Questions about Logos
So continuing with my last article theme “review,” I reviewed all 702 keywords I have at my disposal through the wonderful tool of Google Analytics. My findings had themes of their own, specifically, people wanting answers about logos, design and timeliness.
Yes, keywords can be questions and often are. Have you ever typed in “best logo in the world,” to try and find an answer?
While I am not the one to answer all these questions (as remember, I’m just a freelance blogger/creative writer/SEO developer) there is one lady who can answer these questions and she’s the owner of a creative Chicago graphic design firm, Rochelle Weiner.
Now, there’s the obvious questions about estimates and “how much will it cost to do this,” or “how much will it cost to do that.” However, the most interesting questions that popped up in my results centered on one detail. “How often should I update my logo,” or some variation thereof.
This answer doesn’t seem easy as there may not be a black and white definition as to when one should update a logo or the entire brand in general. Rochelle did an article sometime ago where she responded to the Gap logo change and how the graphic design community remained in an uproar over the unwanted change. If I may paraphrase her words, and those of other authors who come to mind, in short a good logo is timeless and if it is still relevant there is no need for a change. That said, perhaps you didn’t develop a good logo from the get go and find that your image is a little antiquated. Maybe Gap felt that way, who knows. How do you feel?
We’re here to answer design questions, for updating a brand (even if you’re merging brands) and to give you things to consider when creating your new logo. You may be the next trend to fall into.
